If you've been wondering what Adam has been up to lately, post-Grammy nomination for his Fountains of Wayne work, apparently he's now working on the Tony. According to Broadway.com:

"Producers Adam Epstein, Allan S. Gordon, Elan McAllister and Brian Grazer are taking a chance and banking on songwriters who have never before worked together to write the score for their big-budget musical adaptation of John Waters' Cry-Baby. Lyricist David Javerbaum and Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger will join Hairspray librettists Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan on the creative team for the tuner."

More at the site. Including a photo!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Though this detail has no doubt been up at the Trash Can Sinatras' Web site for some time, here's a fantastic look behind the scenes as the band remixed its album with Andy Chase last November, complete with pictures. Yowzah!

And great news: Paco's first full length album, This Is Where We Live, is out May 18. Paco are Andy Chase and Dominique Durand, or, 2/3 of IVY (which should be IV, but nobody asked me). The song listing goes thus:

Satie
My Love
Shaded
Lie
Adore
Let it Go
Who Do You Think You Are?
Thin
Promises
Never

"Worry About You", from IVY 's Long Distance album, has been chosen to be the main title theme song of Stephen King's new ABC television series Kingdom Hospital, which debuts March 3. (Fountains Of Wayne's "Red Dragon Tattoo" can also be heard in several episodes of the series.) For information on the show and airtimes, go here.

Meanwhile, IVY continues work on the new album, which will be done hopefully for a late 2004 release.

Great news for Brookville -- they've been included in Rolling Stone's end of the year Top 10 albums of 2003! Fantabulous!

From the Stone:

"8. Brookville, Wonderfully Nothing (Unfiltered): IVY 's Andy Chase's solo project is warm and lush. Indie, trip hop, Jazz, and ambience influences make this a CD to cuddle up to anytime."

True, so true. (Only we'd have put it at No. 1.)

And also, Brookville, IVY and the Paco EP were all added to the Apple iTunes store. Head over to www.itunes.com to start your downloading now!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No, no, really! IVY are fine and safe and well and working their little butts off. Andy says to let everyone know that "IVY 's smack in the middle of working on our next album, due out this summer or early fall." Beyond that, we cannot say. But -- stay tuned for more updates! Happy New Year, and happy new IVY !
