A note from Andy Chase:

Hi everybody,

Thought I’d give you a little update in case you’re interested:

IVY ’s been in the studio working on new material. I'm sure most of you know that Adam is now busy with the new Fountains Of Wayne record. I'm also preparing for the release of my own album under the moniker Brookville. In the meantime IVY 's made a lot of headway on the new songs and plans on continuing to record this fall. We're trying to get the record done so that when our other two bands are winding down the new IVY record will be ready to go.

A special thanks to those of you who have been asking about my new band, Brookville.  And thanks for your patience. It's been a long road I've gone down, trying to figure out how exactly to release it and when the best time was to do so.

While it might have seemed quiet on the IVY front, it's actually been crazy busy (and fun). I've decided to start a record label. There seems to be a continued demand for the old IVY records and it only made sense for me to put them out myself rather than give them (yet again!) to another label. This led me to make the decision to release Brookville through the new label too. Wonderfully Nothing will finally be released on August 26 in North America and Japan. The Japanese version will also include 2 bonus tracks. Look for a tour as early as this fall. I'll be rehearsing the band most of August and looking forward to playing live shows again.

I wanted you guys to be some of the first to hear music off the record and to get a sneak preview of my new label website as well. Go to www.unfilteredrecords.com. Click the Radio button if you want to check out Brookville or check out the mp3's.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing everyone's feedback on Wonderfully Nothing and the new website!

Thanks again.

Sincerely,
Andy

IVY are currently writing and recording material for a new album at Stratosphere Sound in New York City. They hope to have the record completed by the Fall. Sessions will continue throughout the summer, with the band working around Adam and Andy's respective schedules with Fountains of Wayne and Brookville (Andy's solo project). Fountains Of Wayne's new album, Welcome Interstate Managers will be released in June, and they will be touring starting in July (see fountainsofwayne.com for details). Brookville's Wonderfully Nothing will be released worldwide in August. Foreign Brookville info: It will come out on JVC in Japan, and they're working on deals to release it in Europe, Canada and South America.

The IVY back catalogue will be released on Unfiltered: Lately, Realistic, Apartment Life (the Atlantic version). It's what they call a "soft release" -- no promotion, they just want it in the stores that don't have those albums. There will be no remastering, no re-releasing, no adding of other tracks -- Lately will even come in the cardboard holder it originally was packaged with. When the next IVY album comes out, there'll be a bigger promotional push.

IVY 's "Edge Of The Ocean" can be heard in a TV commercial for Holland America cruises, which has been running for the last several months. Also, the band's cover of "Let's Go To Bed" by the Cure was recently heard in HBO's Six Feet Under.

Finally, Adam and his wife Katie had a baby girl named Sadie on April 13th. Want to send the happy parents a congratulations card? Email us here. As for Andy and Dominique, they thank everyone who sent them cards and presents and good wishes for Julien's recent birth!
